“Please remind yourself that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet and be careful,” Kamal Haasan tweeted.

Makkal Needhi Maiam president and actor Kamal Haasan on Monday said he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted to a hospital.

“I had mild cough following my return from the USA. When I tested, the coronavirus infection was confirmed. I have isolated myself in hospital. Everyone should be on guard realising that the COVID-19 spread has not faded,” Haasan said in a tweet.

The 67-year-old actor has already been vaccinated against coronavirus and the news of him being positive has made his fans concerned about his health. Fans of the legendary actor immediately posted ‘get well soon’ and ‘take care’ messages below the actor’s announcement tweet.

The Vishwaroopam actor is also the host of the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil and he joined the sets of the show after returning from America. He hosted the weekend episodes and displayed no signs of being ill.

Haasan celebrated his 67th birthday two weeks ago, on 7 November. He will next be seen in Vikram which was launched on the eve of his birthday.

The movie is being produced by the Indian actor’s production company, Raajkamal Films International and is the actor’s 232nd film. The much-awaited film also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles.
