Kerala election results LIVE: LDF leads in 93; BJP chief loses both seats
Kerala election results 2021 LIVE updates: Counting of votes for the 140-seat Kerala election 2021 is underway. Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala looks set to script a history by retaining power in the state. As of 12:55 pm, LDF was ahead in 87 of the state’s 140 seats, while the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) was leading in 48. The BJP was ahead in three seats, including Padakkal, where metroman E Sreedharan has maintained a consistent lead.
LDF is seeking to break the state’s four-decade-old trend of swinging between the communists and the Congress-led United Democratic Front.
The BJP, which had won one seat in 2016, is confident of garnering more seats this time.
